COMING SOON: SUNSHINE

Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) directs Sunshine, an action flick reminiscent of "The Core," but with Boyle's skills behind the camera, this film might actually have wings. Fifty years from now, the sun is dying, and mankind is dying with it. Our last hope: a spaceship and a crew of eight men and women. They carry a device which will breathe new life into the star. But deep into their voyage, out of radio contact with Earth, their mission is starting to unravel.

Luc Besson (Fifth Element) brings ANGEL A, a Black & White, subtitled drama about a down-on-his-luck petty criminal Andre (Jamel Debbouze) who has reached the end of his rope. Irreversibly in debt to a local gangster, with no one to turn to, his only solution is to plunge himself into the Seine. Just as he is perched to do so, a fellow bridge-jumper beats him to the water. Diving in, he saves Angela (Rie Rasmussen), a beautiful, statuesque and mysterious woman. As they pull themselves out the water, the two form a bond and venture into the streets of Paris determined to get Andre out of the hole he has found himself in.

This is directly from the horse's mouth. Whedon, the creator of the Buffy & Firefly TV shows, was slated to create the new WONDER WOMAN. However, on his blog, Whedon announced the project is no more...

January 2007 was a pretty quiet month in Boston. There was little, if any, snow, and the biggest story of the month was probably the Patriots getting knocked out of the Superbowl by the Indianapolis Colts. That was, until the final day of the month, when the Mooninites invaded.

To all those who say this was a failed publicity stunt, or a stunt gone awry, I say let’s take another look. Aside from possible legal action against them, I would say the Turner Broadcasting Company’s “Guerilla Marketing” strategy was wildly successful. Don’t believe me? Well, before yesterday, did YOU know who, or what, the Mooninites were? I sure didn’t, and I am betting more than half of Boston didn’t either, but we all do now.

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 in the Works!

During his interview with CISN Country, Dan Aykroyd announced the Ghostbusters 3 will be all CGI and that Murray has agreed to come back to provide the voice of Dr. Peter Venkman. "I can do all the things I wanted to do for much, much less money."

Seems like, and not long ago, in a meeting somewhere in Hollywood, JJ Abrams was kicked to the curb, or JJ kicked Paramount to the curb, we're not sure yet, but in the end, JJ Abrams is out of Star Trek XI!

COMING SOON: KNOCKED UP

The crew behind the hit 40-Year Old Virgin take the next step in the comedy hierarchy, this time without Steve Carell, and bring you the story of Allison Scott (Katherine Heigl), an up-and-coming entertainment journalist whose 24-year-old life is on the fast track. But it gets seriously derailed when a drunken one-nighter with slacker Ben Stone (Seth Rogen) results in an unwanted pregnancy. Faced with the prospect of going it alone or getting to know the baby's father, Allison decides to give the lovable doof a chance.

Check out the full-length trailer from Yahoo! and also check out the teaser from the U.K. which has the cool distinction of having the F-Bomb in it. Nice.
