The 79th Academy Awards were announced (with Salma Hayek-more on that later) and here is the complete list of nominations. "Dreamgirls" (8 nominations) and "Pan's Labyrinth" (7 nominations) were the top dogs, but "Dreamgirls" failed to get either Director or Picture nods. "Apocalypto" received 3 nods but failed for best foreign film.

Al Pacino will play artist Salvador Dali in "Dali & I: The Surreal Story," with Andrew Niccol directing. Room 9 Entertainment has set a June start date in New York and Spain.

Niccol, who previously directed Pacino in "Simone," is rewriting a John Salvati-scripted adaptation of the Stan Lauryssen book "Dali and I." Pic's produced by Room 9 partners David O. Sacks, Daniel Brunt and Michael R. Newman, who are coming off "Thank You for Smoking."

The film covers the latter days of Dali and Niccol said that was when the surrealist painter decided to take his career in a most surreal direction. He felt that Pacino understood the subject.

Being that this guy's a HUGE Rocky fan, this is quite possibly one of the greatest video’s ever made! Someone sat there and compiled this video of every punch thrown in all of the Rocky movies and put them together in this great sequence!

...with what is certainly one of the strangest AICN posts ever (and that says quite a bit).

Earlier this afternoon, a reader sent in an image highlighting what he claimed was the Silver Surfer's chromy nut sack. He said this screen grab came from the currently posted trailer for FANTASTIC FOUR: RISE OF THE SILVER SURFER.

Initially, I had my doubts -- who wouldn't? It HAD to be fake. I mean, the notion of Surfer cruising around with his metallic junk swinging in the wind just didn't make a whole lot of sense.
Finally, curiosity got the best of me (it wasn't the homo-erotic kind of curiosity...not that there's anything wrong with that), so I jumped to the QuickTime HD version of the trailer and started frame-by-framing through the scene in question.

And, sure enough, there it was...the Silver Surfer's shiny package!

Dave and Thomas love list like this, mostly when it deals with bad movies. Hollywood can't resist turning to established fan bases, and what better way to do that then to remake a popular show. Don't know yet if 'Miami Vice' is better as a movie or TV show, but we count down 11 of the worst TV-to-movie adaptations. Plus, check out Moviefone's list of the 11 best.

Well, we said we would update the Pirates 3 concept art when we could. We were able to find some more of the artwork that Disney is scrambling to get off the Internet. So, we'll post it as long as possible.

One thing, check out the artist's rendition of Keira Knightley's breasts in the 3rd picture. They're huge! The artist really took some creative licensing there.
